A. synergistic cytotoxicity when cells were treated with LCL161/OBX combination and B. greater inhibition of proliferation when cells were treated with LCL161/OBX combination. C. MM1.R and MM1.S cells were cultured with or without bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) derived from a MM patient. Cells were treated with indicated concentrations of LCL161, OBX or the combination for 48hrs. We observed that only LCL161/OBX combination, but not the individual drugs, was able to overcome the tumor protective effects of BMSCs and inhibit proliferation to the extent observed when the MM cells were cultured alone in the absence of BMSCs.
