There was a significant rise in 25(OH)D from baseline to 3 months, 45.4 ± 14.4 nmol/L to 68.8 ± 14.4 nmol/L, p = 0.002. This increase was sustained through the 9-month observation, consistent with adequate absorption of ingested vitamin D.
