Effect of RnlB on cell toxicity of RnlA or its derivatives. ΔrnlAB cells harboring pBAD24-rnlA (A); pBAD24-DBD (B); or pBAD24-NTD-DBD (C) plus either pMK33 (pJK289-rnlB) [25] or its vector pJK289 were grown in LB medium until the OD₆₆₀ reached approximately 0.3, and then treated with or without 0.2% arabinose. Cell densities were monitored by the optical density at 660 nm every 15 min; (D) Wild-type cells harboring pBAD24-rnlA or pBAD24-DBD were grown in LB medium until the OD₆₆₀ reached approximately 0.3, and then treated with or without 0.2% arabinose. Duplicate measurements were performed in figures (A–D) and similar results were obtained for each measurement. A representative result is shown for each figure.
