Effect of a WD on apoB-depleted plasma protein composition. After 12 weeks of either SD or WD, mice were euthanized, and plasma proteins were analyzed using the label-free protein quantification method (n = 6/group). A multidimensional scaling (MDS) plot of a data matrix was applied to the normalized spectral abundance factor (NSAF) values of analyzed proteins to depict the level of similarity of individual samples in the data set in two dimensions. The proximity of samples in this figure indicates the similarity between two NSAF profiles. The two dimensions after scaling the data are shown in the x and y axes. The origin corresponds to the mean of all samples, and the samples are arranged based on their similarities. On the basis of the MDS, SD and WD samples were separated into two distinct groups across the first dimension.
