Effect of Western Diet (WD) on turnover rates of selected plasma proteins in LDLR-deficient mice assessed with the 2H2O metabolic-labeling technique. Intraperitoneal bolus loading followed by free access to drinking water enriched with 2H2O (5%) led to a steady state body water labeling of ~2.9%. Time course enrichment of 2H incorporation into peptide LGEYGFQNAILVR from albumin (A), peptide THEQLTPLVR from apoAII (B), peptide DSQEEEKTEALTSAK from gelsolin (C), and peptide YTYGKPVPGHVK from murinoglobulin-1 (D). Western diet, square symbols; standard diet, circle symbols. Data show mean ± SD with n = 4 per group.
