Audiograph of electrophoretic mobility shift assay using labeled RNA probes for the 11 and 13DNR DNR alleles, and purified candidate-binding proteins. Results confirm binding for 4E-BP and elF4E and ELAVL4, seen as a shift up from the unlabeled oligos. In all cases, the binding was weaker, or eliminated for the 13 repeat risk allele. (The small upward shift of the 11DNR-unbound oligo band is likely due to a secondary structure, as it can be reduced or eliminated with heat treatment. See Supplementary Materials.)
