Figure 2. Electron paramagnetic (EPR) resonance and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS).
(a) Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra and (b) X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) of desolvated MFM-300(VIII) and MFM-300(VIV). The X-band (9.86 GHz) EPR spectra were collected at 293 K. MFM-300(VIII) is EPR silent under these conditions, consistent with VIII. MFM-300(VIV) has a strong EPR spectrum under the same conditions, giving a single resonance centred at g=1.955 (9.8661 GHz), consistent with VIV, d1 (g<ge, the free electron value), with a peak-to-peak linewidth of ca. 130 G.
