Table 1. Inactivation of bacteria by FdCa (OH)2 in feces during their recovery by PBS, within min.

Concentration of FdCa (OH)2 RFa)

E. coli S. Infantis
5% ≥4.59 ± 0.00b) ≥4.53 ± 0.00
10% ≥4.59 ± 0.00b) ≥4.53 ± 0.00
20% ≥4.59 ± 0.00b ≥4.53 ± 0.00

Chicken feces were inoculated with bacteria in conical centrifuge tubes, and then, different amounts of FdCa (OH)2 powder was added on them and mixed properly, and soon thereafter, the remaining bacteria were harvested by adding 10 ml PBS. a) Reduction factor=log10 (titer of control/ml) −log10 (titer of treated samples/ml). b) Data represent mean ± standard deviation of three individual reactions.
