Data were extracted from the most recent demographic and health survey in each country (survey year range: 2005–2014). Coverage is the percentage of children receiving the third dose of vaccine based on vaccination card data (vaccination dates recorded or vaccination marked without date of administration). Timely receipt of vaccination is the percentage of children receiving the third dose within 4 weeks of the target age (weeks) of the national vaccination schedule. Denominators are those in Table 2 and Table 3. Dates of vaccination were based on observations with available vaccination dates recorded on vaccination cards. We included children vaccinated before the recommended age (early vaccinations) in the denominator when calculating delayed and timely vaccination rates. Estimates of early vaccinations are not shown in the figure. The following countries reported > 10% children vaccinated before the recommended age for the third dose: Azerbaijan (50%), Plurinational State of Bolivia (12%), Colombia (12%), Kyrgyzstan (60%), Nigeria (12%) and Tajikistan (56%).
