Masks with references to family, comrades killed in action: (1) a recreation of several scenes from deployment on the mask with a white patch with his family drawn in on the chin to represent how he felt the family “took the brunt” of his injuries, (2) reference to moral injuries including feelings of guilt and remorse surrounding wartime losses; (3) a memorial to comrades (names blurred for confidentiality) with tears of blood from the eyes and names of those killed or injured when he sustained his TBI.
