Identification of lysozyme-sensitive PAO1 mutants. (A) Three PAO1 mutant strains were grown in the absence or presence of 1 mg/mL lysozyme in 0.5 × LB. After 16 h growth, aliquots from each culture were diluted and plated for CFU counting. Experimental conditions were identical to those described in the legend of Figure 1. Bacterial cultures were repeated in triplicate, and the mean ± SD values are displayed. ^*P < 0.05 vs. CFU of untreated cultures.
