Schematic diagram of the process used to generate and transfer metallic nanoislands on graphene. Nanoislands are formed by thermal evaporation of metals onto copper-supported graphene. The backing copper is etched using a basic ammonium persulfate solution. The film can then be transferred to a substrate of interest and addressed for electrical measurements.
