Cytotoxicity- ARPE-19 cells seeded at 1 × 10⁴/cm² were treated with an increasing doses of HC-HA/PTX3 or HA for 48 h before being measured by MTT (A), WST-1 (B,C), or cell death detection ELISA (D). Proliferation - In a separate experiment, ARPE-19 cells (E,F) or primary human RPE cells (G) were seeded and treated similarly as in cytotoxicity except the cells were also stimulated by EGF (10 ng/ml) and FGF-2 (20 ng/ml) (n = 3, *indicates p < 0.05 compared with the PBS control).
