Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) administration increases aggression in male song sparrows. Nonbreeding male songs sparrows, held under short days (8L : 16D) implanted with DHEA‐filled silastic implants for 14 days showed higher total aggression scores and a shorter latency to show an aggressive behaviour than birds with empty implants.
