Effect of Se yeast supplementation on the plasma P4 concentration during the first 100 postpartum days (mean±standard error of the mean; −Se: n = 17, +Se: n = 17). Blood sampling from the jugular vein was carried out in the morning every two days. Plasma P4 concentrations were measured using an enzyme immunoassay kit after diethylether extraction. All assays were performed in duplicate. Significant difference according to the Bonferroni method was defined as a p value of <0.05 (*) and <0.07 (†).
