Models are simultaneously adjusted for both social relationship variables as well as age, sex, education, home tenure (own vs. rent/other), workforce status (working [referent], retired, out of work, never worked), current smoking (yes, no) and diagnosed chronic disease (heart disease, stroke, and cancer).
