Free fatty acid levels in HFs. (A) ACLY knockout had little effect on levels of free fatty acids in both mock- and HCMV-infected HFs. (B) ACSS2 knockout reduced free fatty acid levels in infected HFs. At 48 hpi, infected and uninfected control, C9, C3, or C11 cells in six-well plates were washed with PBS; free fatty acids were extracted and measured as described in Materials and Methods.
