Effect of heat stress and stationary phase on in vitro survival of Δpimt strain. (A)Δpimt strain showed hypersensitivity to 42°C. Overnight grown cultures of WT, Δpimt and Δpimt + pQE60-pimt strains of S. Typhimurium were diluted and exposed to 42°C for 72 h in a shaker incubator. The aliquots were drawn at different times post-incubation, serially diluted and plated on HE agar plates. The CFUs/ml were calculated.
