Effect of previous vaccination with pVAXhsp65 on peripheral immune response. C57BL/6 mice were immunized with 4 pVAXhsp65 doses and then submitted to EAE induction. Cytokine production was assessed 30 days after EAE induction. IFN-γ (a), IL-6 (b), IL-17 (c), and IL-10 (d) production were assayed in spleen cell cultures restimulated in vitro with MOG35–55 or rhsp65. The percentage of CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ T cells was evaluated in the total number of spleen cells 30 days after EAE induction (e). Data were presented by mean ± SE of 6 mice and are representative of two independent experiments. ∗ represents the difference between DNA injected groups and control group with EAE. p < 0.05.
