Mevastatin (MVS) attenuates S1P‐induced airway inflammatory responses in vivo. (A) Mice were pretreated with mevastatin or vehicle (Sham), i.p., for 24 h, and then administered mevastatin with or without S1P (S1P), i.t., for 24 h. Changes in the appearance of the lung were observed. (B) BAL fluid was acquired, and the number of leukocytes was counted with a haemocytometer. (C) The proteins were extracted from airway tissues, and the protein levels of COX‐2 and β‐actin were determined by Western blot. Data are expressed as mean ± SEM of five mice in each group. #
P < 0.01, as compared with mice injected with vehicle. δ
P < 0.05, as compared with the cells exposed to S1P alone.
