H₂O₂ (0.2 mM) effects on caspase-9 activity of MCF-7 cells in the presence or absence of Fucus spiralis fractions (1 mg/mL) after 24 h of treatment. The activity was quantified by the slope of the linear phase accumulation of 7-amino-4-(trifluoromethyl) coumarin (between 25 and 75 min). The results are presented in arbitrary units of fluorescence per mg of protein (% of control). The values in each column represent the mean ± standard error of the mean (SEM) from three independent experiments.
