Effects of Xn treatment on inflammatory cell count and MPO levels in LPS-induced ALI mice. After LPS challenge for 12 h, all mice were euthanized and their BALF and lungs were collected. (A–C) The total counts of cells, macrophages and neutrophils from the BALF were counted using a hemocytometer, and the Wright-Giemsa staining method was used for cytosine staining (magnification ×400, red arrows: macrophages; green arrows: neutrophils). (D) MPO activity in lung tissues was measured at 12 h after LPS challenge. Similar results were obtained from three independent experiments.
