pH-dependent solubility. Slurries with homogenized algal biomass and water in a ratio of 1:4 were incubated at different pH values, before separating liquid and solid material by centrifugation. Total protein content and solubilized proteins were quantified, and the solubility is expressed as a percentage as calculated from the extract concentration divided by the total protein concentration of the original slurry.
