Examination of the patients’ feet should include: |
• Testing of foot sensation using a 10-g monofilament or vibration |
• Palpation of foot pulses |
• Inspection for any foot deformity and footwear |
Based on this the foot should be classified as: |
• At low current risk |
• At increased risk |
• High risk |
• Acute foot / ulcerated foot / Charcot |
