Figure 5. — Effect of HSA-PEI-pcDNA-Apoptin on normal and tumor tissues. (A) Apoptin was upregulated in the tumor tissues of the HSA-PEI-pcDNA-Apoptin group, but showed low levels of expression in normal tissues, including the liver, lungs and kidney, as demonstrated by western blotting. Apoptin was rarely expressed in the HSA-PEI-pcDNA group and control group mice. (B) Hematoxylin and eosin staining showed that no overt pathological changes were noted in the lung and liver tissues of mice injected with HSA-PEI-pcDNA-Apoptin (magnification, ×200).
