TβRII and TβRII-B mRNA was detected in all primary AML cells, normal bone marrow CD34+ cells, and four AML cell lines, with the exception of K562 and HL60 cells (both TβRII isoforms were expressed at low levels). The leukemic cells and normal bone marrow cells differentially expressed TβRII. TβRII was mainly expressed in AML cells, whereas TβRII-B was mainly expressed in normal myeloid cells. A. NBM indicates normal bone marrow CD34+ cells. B. AML indicates bone marrow mononuclear cells with AML. C. TβRII was expressed at lower levels in K562 and HL60 cells than in other cell lines.
