Extracellular siderophore levels in ΔmirC are increased during iron-replete growth. RP-HPLC analysis was used to measure extracellular siderophore levels in A. fumigatus WT, ΔmirC, and ΔmirC^GFP grown in iron-replete conditions for 72 h at 37°C (n = 4). Siderophore levels were normalized to biomass. Supernatant was ferrated at 1.5 mM FeSO₄ before the analysis. There was a significant increase in the levels of (A) TAFC^+Fe (p < 0.05) and (B) FSC^+Fe (p < 0.05) in ΔmirC compared to WT. Statistical analyses were carried out using t-tests (^*p < 0.05).
