The proliferation and differentiation behaviors of osteoblasts are regulated via soluble factors derived from cancer cells depending on the type of metastasis (osteolytic and osteoblatic). However, osteoblast arrangement, which determines the bone matrix microstructure is disrupted by direct interactions with cancer cells.
