Hepatic differentiation of HE-iPSCs induced by paracrine signals of MSCs and/or HUVECs. (A) Two-chamber culture system using a Transwell micropore membrane insert to separate the upper and lower chambers. Hepatic-specified endoderm iPSCs (HE-iPSCs) were plated in the upper chamber and HUVECs and/or MSCs were plated in the lower chamber, while maintaining fluid communication. (B) Timecourse monitoring of albumin and A1AT production from HE-iPSCs in the culture supernatant, as quantified by ELISA (n=8).
