Summary of structures related to Klp1. Anaglyph stereo view of a disrupted wild-type Chlamydomonas axoneme prepared by the quick-freeze deep-etch method shows a central pair complex with a gradual left-handed helical twist (best viewed with red–green anaglyph glasses, green lens on the right), modified from Fig. 3 of Goodenough and Heuser (25). The apparent attachment of pairs of radial spokes (sp) to central pair projections in the Klp1 region may be an artifact of specimen preparation. Inset summarizes densities seen in cross-section views, some of which are also labeled on the micrograph. (Scale bar, 100 nm.)
