Seed-based FC z-maps, averaged for the subjects belonging to the HC (top) and ADHD (bottom) groups. The seed was placed in the posterior cingulate cortex (PCC, MNI coordinates: 0, -54, 26). Choosing an arbitrary correlation threshold (Z-score) of 0.4, only ME-ICA seems able to efficiently preserve the BOLD signal in both groups and show the typical connectivity between PCC and medial prefrontal cortex, PCC and hippocampi, and PCC and inferior parietal lobules.
