Exclusion Criteria
Past Medical History: radiation therapy to head and neck within 5 years, chronic sinusitis or rhinitis within past year, acute traumatic event to larynx in last year, malignancy within past 5 years, infectious laryngitis in past 3 months, substance or alcohol abuse
Past Surgical History: Lung or gastroesophageal surgery, tracheostomy, laryngeal or tracheal surgery
Medications: diazepam, phenytoin, mephenytoin, warfarin, anticholinergics, antineoplastics, prostaglandin analogs, H2-receptor antagonists, steroids (inhaled, oral, intravenous), promotility drugs, sucralfate, theophylline or other investigational compound in previous 60 days, PPI or H2 blockers in past year
Pregnancy or lactation
