Rate of offspring produced (number of offspring produced per hour) before and after remating for SPR+ and SPR0 females. At 3, 5, and 24 h remating intervals offspring production was much faster after the second mating than after the first. This was most apparent at 3 h remating in SPR+ females. At each interval, pairs were given 2 h in which to remate, starting at the times indicated (i.e. 3–5 h, 5–7 h, 24–26 h, and 48–50 h).
