After colitis induction, each group of animals was treated daily for 8 days with either ARF or 5-ASA and their effects on body weight were recorded overtime and expressed in terms of % of the initial weight (A). After colon collection (day 8 post TNBS-induced colitis), macroscopic colitis severity was blindly assessed and characterized in terms of damage score (B).
