Hemocompatibility Analysis of 0.032% ATCOL/siICAM-1-Coated Glass Slides

Coated slides were incubated with fresh human blood at 37°C under gentle shaking. The 0-hr and 1-hr samples served as the control and the baseline, respectively. After incubation, different blood cell numbers and inflammatory parameters were analyzed by a cell counter or ELISAs: (A) erythrocytes × 10³ mm⁻³; (B) leukocytes × 10³ mm⁻³; (C) platelets × 10³ mm⁻³; (D) lymphocytes × 10³ mm⁻³; (E) monocytes × 10³ mm⁻³; (F) granulocytes × 10³ mm⁻³; (G) SC5b9 (ng mL⁻¹); (H) C3a (ng mL⁻¹); and (I) PMN elastase (ng mL⁻¹). Hemolysis was determined by the detection of free hemoglobin with citrate plasma and a reaction kit: (J) hemolysis (mg dL⁻¹).
