Gel electrophoresis for the IL-4 gene −590 (C>T) showing the C and T alleles in some asthma patients. (Gel electrophoresis was done by using 1.5% agarose gel concentration, 75 volts for 2 hours. Presence of one band in C lane and absence of this band in T lane refer to the genotype CC. In contrast, presence of one band in T lane and absence of this band in C lane refer to the genotype TT.
