Surface features of rTp0737 and a related LBP. The two LBPs, BxlE (left) and rTp0737 (right) have been split into their respective N and C domains, and these have been individually rotated such that the ligand‐binding surfaces are facing forward; in effect, they have been “opened” along their hinge regions to present the ligand‐binding surfaces. Surfaces contributed by carbon atoms are colored gray, while those representing nitrogens are blue, oxygens are red, and sulfurs are yellow. Importantly, these surfaces are not the result of an electrostatic calculation. Boxes on BxlE represent the xylobiose‐binding site.
