Zn exacerbates diabetes-induced cardiac oxidative damage. Oxidative damage was examined by Western blot for 3-NT (A) and 4-HNE (B) accumulation in the myocardium, followed by quantitative analysis. 3-NT includes all nitrated tyrosine containing proteins (A). Similarly, 4-HNE includes all proteins containing 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (a peroxide lipid) (B). All bands were quantified.
