(a). Free space coupled transmission when the polar angle of the free space beam changed from 0 degrees to 45 degrees. (b). Free space coupled transmission when the azimuthal angle of the free space beam changed from zero to 60 degrees. The directions of electrical field of the WGM and free space light is marked in all figures. It is evident that this mode is a TE mode because in theory light cannot be coupled into TM mode at a polar angle of zero-degree. The green dots in the inset figures are the nano-scatterers.
