(Left) TAMs have pro‐tumor functions and a high density of CD163 (a marker of pro‐tumor macrophages)‐positive TAMs has been reported as one of the predictive factors for worse clinical prognosis in many malignant tumors. (Right) CD169‐positive LN macrophages are considered to cross‐present tumor antigens to effector cells. A high density or percentage of CD169‐positive LN macrophages has been demonstrated to be one of the predictive factors for better clinical prognosis in colorectal cancer, melanoma, and endometrial cancer.
