Figure 5A is based upon ratings of semiquantitative analysis of the extent of GFAP astrocyte immunoreactivity in Figure 5B. A trend for reduced cortical astrocytosis is observed in mice treated with MEL after splenectomy on day 5 (p=0.065 by Mann-Whitney test). (Scale bar =100 µm).
