Growth kinetics were monitored for (A) MSSA and (B) MRSA following exposure to histones, indolicidin (positive control) at concentrations ranging from MIC to 4 × MIC for 0–90 min. Sterile water, pH 7.4 was used as a negative control. The nominal time point 0 was estimated to be 15 s, corresponding to the minimum time required to mix and pipet the bacterial cultures with their treatments into the 96 well microplate. Values represent the mean ± SD of n = 6 replicates at each time point.
