Balance between antioxidants and oxidants in untrained and trained individuals in as it relates to exercise benefits. An individual who is less experienced in exercise might find more of a benefit with higher concentrations of systemic antioxidants (such as via supplementation); an individual who is more trained in exercise might find more of a benefit with higher concentrations of systemic oxidants (free radicals/reactive species with their respective roles in exercise adaptation [203].
