^aThe percentage of AcmA activity from 1-ml supernatant samples that bound to cells from 1-ml culture samples was determined as described in Materials and Methods. Samples containing AcmA were incubated with M. lysodeikticus cells for 30 min. Similar results were obtained in independent experiments.
