The other rows (A–Y) identifies the amino acid replacements at each position. Each box in the matrix corresponds to a single peptide containing an additional glycine at the C-terminus. The values within each box represent a RelIC75 value, determined by treatment of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa reporter strain H1001 with any given peptide for 4 h. Boxes are color-coded by a dynamic range between blue and red: blue stands for improved activity compared to the parent peptide, green for similar activity, and red indicates no activity. Empty boxes represent the original sequence.
