A flowchart of the experiment. The baseline blood pressure was measured followed by RDN or sham surgery on the next day. Five days after RDN or sham surgery, blood pressure was measured and all the mice were then subjected to angiotensin II infusion. Blood pressure was then measured at Day 14 and Day 27 during the angiotensin II infusion. The mice were euthanized at Day 28. Eight mice from the sham surgery group and six mice from the RDN group died of aortic rupture during the 28-day angiotensin II infusion.
