Live cell movies of GFP-Tub1 spindles in wild-type and the spc110-226 mutant at 37°C (TYY150 and TYY146). Cells were grown at 37°C on a heated microscope stage, and images were collected in 3-D at 1-min intervals. (A) Control SPC110 cells were observed to progress through anaphase, N = 4. (B) Fracture and collapse of the mutant spindles was observed as well as abnormalities in the cytoplasmic microtubule arrays, N = 22. Arrows point to a spindle that forms, collapses, and reforms.
