Denoting the color intensity–level logarithmic function of c by I(c), the corresponding equation is $I=k{\log }_{10}c$, where the constant $k=255/{\log }_{10}{c}_{\max }$ and $c_{\max }$ stands for the maximum value of tumor cell population which is observed during the experiment. The threshold for tumor visualization has been taken to be equal to $1{\mathrm{cell/mm}}^3$. The bright contour loop generated on the upper raw corresponds to the tomographically detectable tumor boundary at a detection level of $8000{\mathrm{cells}/\mathrm{mm}}^3$.
