Inhibition of αvβ5 integrin reduces astrocyte loss in STZ-induced diabetic mice (DM). Anti-αvβ5-integrin-neutralizing antibody (Anti-αvβ5 Ab, 1 μg) or PBS was intravitreally injected to 2-week-old DM. Retinal astrocyte was evaluated 1 week after the injection in 3-week-old DM.
