Real-time RT-PCR analysis of inflammatory gene expression. The expressions of inflammatory genes in HPL cells with the application of continuous tensile strain at strengths of 15% were examined by real-time RT-PCR. Gene expression was calibrated using the GAPDH housekeeping gene, and the values indicate the fold-change from control. The expression of IL-1β (A), IL-6 (B), COX-2 (C), and TNF-α (D) mRNA are shown.
